This article is devoted to the analysis of the collection, compiled in the XVII century by Gerontij Solovetsky. The author gives particular attention to Gerontij’s novel approach towards making such collections of texts, when each significant fragment included into collection was prefaced with the title–annotation (summary). This method allowed placing the fragments of texts with no comments, achieving the desired impact on the reader only by titles. The Tale of Simeon of Suzdal as a Part of the «Christianoopasny schit very...» («Christian-protecting shield of belief...»). The article analyzes the two chapters of an Old Believers’ collection «Christianoopasny schit very» («Christian-protecting shield of belief»). The author reveals methods used by the monk Avraamiy to form the reader’s desired attitude to the Tale of the Simeon of Suzdal. Key words: handwritten Old Believers’ collections, monk Avraamiy, Simeon of Suzdal, the Council of Ferrara-Florence, the Florentine union, church reform. Zhuravel O.D. The Old-Believers’ book-written Lamentations: the Problems of the genre typology. The paper considers the problems of the genre typology and genesis of the Old-Believers’ book-written Lamentations of the 17th 21th – century. For the first time ever the author determines the common and differential features of the works, which serve as a basis for scientific identification of the Old-Believers’ Lamentations as separate genre category. The author examines how the Old-Believers’ writers used the stylistic features, images and tropes of the folklore Lamentations. Perception of the Siberian Indigenous Peoples’ Culture by the Foreign and Russian Travelers in the XVIII Century. The article is devoted to the changing perception of the Siberian ethnic culture by the European (P.J. von Strahlenberg, D.G. Messerschmidt, G.F. Müller, J.G. Gmelin, G.W. Steller, P.S. Pallas, J.P. Falck, J. Billings) and Russian (S.P. Krasheninnikov, V.F. Zuev and other) travelers in the XVIII century as a result of empirical studies of the lifestyle, rites and customs of the Siberian aborigines. The author deals with questions of ethnological (ethnographical) discourse between those travelers who went to Siberia and studied the Siberian population on place, and those representatives of Enlightenment (G.W. von Leibniz, F. Voltaire, J.-J. Rousseau, J.G. Herder) who wrote about the people of Siberia, but had never visited the region. The paper also covers the topical question of G.F. Müller’s, P.S. Pallas’s and other foreign scientists’ mediating role between the European and Russian science. Memoirs of the Representatives of Siberian’s Indigenous Peoples (XIX century). This article describes the memoirs written by the representatives of Siberian indigenous peoples. The author dates the origin of this phenomenon; names the main authors; analyzes the contents of major sources. The memoirs of the representatives of Siberian indigenous peoples were influenced by the Russian culture, but the most outstanding written works demonstrate the historical and ethnical consciousness of their authors. Key words: history of Siberia, XIX century, memoirs, Siberian’s indigenous people. Pershina, M.V. «Spiritual will» of Ivan Rodionovich Legostaev. The article is devoted to analysis of the little known works by Tumen’s old believer I.R. Legostaev written during his exile in Transbaikalian region in the middle of the 19 century. The two works «Besedoslovie» are considered as a variant of «spiritual will» sent to coreligionists to the city of Tumen. Analysis of «Besedoslovie» allows to extend the well known biographical information about this distinctive writer and specify ideology and religion of the Tumen old believers. Key words: old believers’ works, spiritual will, statement of belief, confession. Zolnikova, N.D. Preaching among the «Strangers» (the Amur Sredniki in the Second Half of the XX Century). The paper is devoted to the phenomenon of the missionary preaching activities of an Old-Believer from the Far Eastern Sredniki – an Old-Believers’ «agreement», which was on the verge of vanishing in the second half of the XX century. The author studies the mechanisms used by the confession members for turning «strangers» into «our people». Key words: Old Believers, sermon, spiritual antichrist, Orthodox sacraments. Lyutov, S.N. The Krasnoyarsk Branch of the Military Publishing House of the People’s Comissariat of Defense during the Great Patriotic War (publication of documents). The published documents contain the information about the creation and activities of one of the branches of the military publishing houses in 1941–1944 in Krasnoyarsk. They depict the specific character of the work of military publishing house whose printed output was

The author touches upon a topical question referring to investigation of the Russian-language book publishing in a newly formed state on the territory of former Soviet Republic of Kazakhstan. The article deals with the historiography and the sources connected with the theme under consideration, the role of the Russian-language book as the cultural phenomenon in the post-soviet period. For the first time in the bookstudying practice the given materials reconstruct the general tendency of the Russian-language book-editing process in Kazakhstan after the events of 1991, the topics of the book production. The Book Products in Post-Soviet Siberia: on the Questions of Reliability of the Official Book Statistics. The article considers the problems of accounting the local bookwork in various parts of Siberia. Cossacks-Explorers and Aboriginal Peoples of Siberia: the First Encounters and Creation of Images. The article deals with the initial stages of interaction between the Cossacks – discoverers of hitherto unknown lands and the aboriginal peoples of southern parts of Siberia. The author uses historical legends to demonstrate stereotypes of cultural interconnection. Synchronization of data obtained from the folklore sources and documents allows describing various forms of interactions between 119 aborigines and colonizers (with domination of violent acts in solving any conflicts). Population of Southern Areas of Middle Siberia During the Demographic Transition (Late XIX – 1st Quarter of the XX century). The population dynamics of southern parts of Middle Siberia allow both to reveal the patterns typical for the whole country and to show the regional peculiarities. The Orthodox Church in the Southers Parts of the Russian Fer East in the Middle if the XIX Century: on the Question of the Mission’s Chronology. The article considers the formation of the missionary structure of the Russian Orthodox Church in the Lower Amur area; reveals factors which influenced propagation of Christianity. Based on the diaries of the first head of the Amur mission, the Orthodox priest Gavriil Veniaminov the author describes the methods of the mission’s educating activities among the peoples of the Far East. The paper deals with problems of organizing and keeping the catalogues and card files in the libraries of the Orenburg province in the XIX – early XX centuries, starting from the first scientific library, founded in 1855, and finishing with the library of the country council (zemstvo) in 1915. On the basis of catalogues and card indexes analysis the author analyzes the structure of book fund and the state of the library science in the region.
