PREVENTION OF HEALTHCARE-ASSOCIATED INFECTIONS
Recent Trends in HIV Interventions
While COVID-19 has been the key challenge for infection control over the past two years, the
situation with the global HIV/AIDS epidemic remains challenging, and a slight decrease in the HIV
incidence reported in many countries is believed to be the result of fewer HIV tests rather than actual
progress. These and other issues were discussed at the meeting «Epidemiological Surveillance of
HIV Infection» organised by Rospotrebnadzor.
New Requirements for Endoscopic Interventions
The new sanitary rules and regulations SanPiN 3.3686-21 «Sanitary and Epidemiological
Requirements for Infectious Disease Prevention» have a strong focus on endoscopy procedures.
While most related guidelines are the same as in the previous Sanitary Rules 3.1.3263-15, there are
a number of new requirements covered in this article.
