Role of Nurses in Geriatric Practice The Nurses in Geriatrics conference featured an exchange of recent research findings and a discussion of key issues, trends, achievements and future prospects of geriatrics, rehabilitation and palliative care. FOURTH NURSES SUMMIT Nursing: Professionalism and Ethics Moscow hosted the Fourth International Summit of Nurses to discuss nurses’ roles in healthcare provision, approaches to managing nursing practice in different countries, and ethical principles underlying nurses’ interactions with doctors and patients. PROFESSIONAL TRAINING Week of Medical Education 2018 An overview of the key events of the Week of Medical Education 2018, an annual international conference hosted by the Sechenov First State Medical University in Moscow in May. Healthcare Workers, Social Workers and Students Reach Out to Elderly Patients A group of students at the Voronezh Medical College carried out a research project to examine the impact of general practice physicians at a polyclinic in Voronezh; the students interviewed elderly patients and reviewed outpatient records and other medical documentation. Anniversary Congress on Endovascular Surgery The 20th TCT Russia 2018 International Congress featured a three-day symposium for nurses. Leading Russian and international experts and practitioners made presentations for nurses working with endovascular surgeons on key developments in this area. Nurses: New Skills and Roles The Sechenov First State Medical University hosted a conference to discuss the future outlook for the nursing profession and to publicize clinical studies performed by nurses and evidencebased nursing practice.
