АннотацияIn terms of perceived decline trend of oil production and reserves increment from the ‘conventional’Cretaceous and Upper Jurassic deposits of the main region of Russian hydrocarbon production – Western Siberia, the paper considers oil and gas potential of the Jurassic-Paleozoic sediments and, mainly, the basement formations. It is the basement, along with deposits of the Bazhenov Formation, which is associated with a possible significant increase in resources of oil (gas) in Western Siberia.
