АннотацияEclecticism, sophistry and dialectics as methods of determining the essence of religion are mutually compared. It is proved that the deёnition of V. S. Solovyov – “religion is a human relationship with the Absolute”- is universal and meets the requirements of dialectics. It is proposed that there are the objective and subjective levels of religiosity. With respect to the subjective religiosity the author deёnes religion as a form of individual and public consciousness which sacralizes the human relationship with the Absolute. The main question of any religion, based on this deёnition, is formulated.
