The classification of nanomaterials is presented, the structural features of nanomaterials, size effects, and properties of nanoobjects are considered. The main approaches and technologies for producing nanomaterials, methods for studying nanoscale structures are presented, the diagnostic features and metrology problems in the field of nanotechnology are considered.

This tutorial discusses some aspects of synthesis and practical application of smart materials - the objects of cutting edge fundamental and applied research. Various types of smart materials are discussed, such as polymer composites, liquid crystal systems, target drug delivery systems, and etc. This tutorial is originally composed in English.

The phenomenon of personal social identity has been studied by researchers representing various research areas for a long time, which has helped accumulate an essential fund of knowledge on these topics. At the same time, cultural and historical changes that had resulted in scientific paradigm shifts underlay the necessity of considering the problematic area of the social identity of individuals within changing contexts, such as cultural, historical or scientific environments. The tutorial is prepared in the Institute of Innovation Management.
